Anna's post-divorce letters to her son

My grandpa gave me 4 letters that his mother wrote to him, 2 from Dec 1937, 1 from May 1938 and 1 from Jul 1938.  I debated what, if anything, to share from these.  I decided that I'd share the 1st 2 because the scans turned out better and I think they really give some insight into how "off" her thinking must have been during this time.

It's striking that she wrote him on 12/13 and asked him why he hadn't wrote her, acknowledging that she hadn't written him either.  She then says she figures his dad's put him against her and then pressures him to spend Christmas with her - he's only 11 years old.  She writes him the next day saying she looked for a letter from him but that she guessed that he hadn't had long enough.  You think?

She's writing him in Muskegon, telling him to tell grandma and grandpa (Hilma and Emil) hi and to let them know she's doing ok.  My grandpa said he bounced between his aunt's homes and attended the Moon School in Muskegon so if he was living in Muskegon within months of the divorce then his dad must have really decided he couldn't care for him.  I'm not sure which aunt lived on Jarman St.
